Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, Complete Replacement of Seasoning Grinders in Kitchen Rooms
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to replace the seasoning grinder in the kitchen with cooking equipment that has enhanced safety features as a countermeasure against the safety accident that occurred last month in a school cafeteria in Yeosu.
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 2nd that it will invest an emergency budget of 4.1 billion KRW to completely replace the existing seasoning grinders used in school cafeterias with dynamic mixers and multi-purpose choppers that can simultaneously grind and mix ingredients.
In December of last year, a cooking staff member, A, at a high school cafeteria in Yeosu suffered a finger injury while cleaning the seasoning grinder, prompting the need for fundamental countermeasures.
Accordingly, the Office of Education invested an emergency budget of 4.1 billion KRW to fully replace the seasoning grinders in the kitchen and guided the purchase of devices with enhanced safety features. They also urged not to purchase products similar to the existing high-risk seasoning grinders.
