Police Officer Caught Drunk Driving Following Citizen Report
A police officer was caught driving after drinking on the first day of the new year.
The Bukbu Police Station in Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 2nd booked Sergeant A, a member of the same police station's district unit, without detention on charges of drunk driving (violation of the Road Traffic Act).
Sergeant A is accused of driving on a road in Sinyong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 1:30 a.m. that day with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.059%, which is the level for license suspension.
He fell asleep while waiting at a traffic signal and was caught following a report from a witness.
