On the 2nd, Kim Seung-ho, the head of the Ministry of Personnel Management, stated, "To address the challenges our nation faces such as low birth rates, aging population, and national integration, the public service will take the lead in promoting personnel policies that contribute to the national interest."
In his New Year's address that day, Director Kim said, "We will enhance autonomy to enable personnel management tailored to the circumstances of each ministry, and by fostering an active and productive public service culture, we will establish a flexible personnel system that can improve government competitiveness."
He mentioned, "We will strengthen the compensation and evaluation system based on performance and capabilities, cultivate talents dedicated to public service values, and continuously pursue personnel innovation that takes full responsibility for public officials who devote themselves with dedication and passion for the people."
He emphasized, "The year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Ministry of Personnel Management's establishment. Going forward, the Ministry will continue bold challenges and relentless innovation to proactively respond to the rapidly changing administrative environment."
