"Come Wearing Only Underwear" Russian Broadcaster Fined for Hosting Semi-Nude Party During War
Aftermath of Celebrity Performance and Advertisement Cancellations at Party
Appeals for Leniency on SNS with "Give Me a Second Chance"
Amid Russia's ongoing war with Ukraine, a Russian broadcaster sparked controversy by hosting a 'naked party.' The broadcaster was eventually fined.
On the 29th (local time), according to the British BBC, Russian broadcaster and influencer Anastasiya Ibliva was fined 100,000 rubles (approximately 1.43 million KRW) by the Moscow Reportovo District Court for violating public order.
On the 20th, Ibliva held a lingerie party at a nightclub in Moscow, inviting famous figures such as popular singer Kirkorov and rapper Bashio, where attendees enjoyed the event wearing only underwear.
After the party video was released, Ibliva faced strong criticism from pro-government figures supporting the Ukraine war. She appealed for leniency on Instagram, asking "the people for a second chance," and promised to donate the proceeds from ticket sales to charity.
Rapper Bashio, who attended the party wearing only socks on his bare body, was sentenced to 15 days in detention, and other celebrities had their concert or advertising contracts canceled.
Singer Lolita Milyavskaya reported that her performances were canceled and she was unable to appear on TV broadcasts.
Additionally, Russian pop star Philipp Kirkorov, known as Russian President Vladimir Putin's favorite singer, appealed by saying, "Everyone has moments when they pass through the wrong door," calling his attendance at the controversial party a mistake.
The Kremlin avoided specific comments on the naked party controversy but claimed that 22 citizens suffered 'moral damage' and demanded that Ibliva donate 1 billion rubles (approximately 14.3 billion KRW) to a support organization for Ukraine war veterans.
