This business agreement aims to address the temporary housing support gap that occurs before securing one room per officer by 2026, by providing LH Happy Housing units built near military bases as officer accommodations. The specific quantity will be discussed further.
Previously, LH and the Ministry of National Defense have been negotiating available Happy Housing units since August, and so far have supported 100 units in Pohang, Gyeongbuk (Marine Corps 1st Division), 44 units in Baengnyeongdo, Incheon (Marine Corps 6th Brigade), and 70 units in Paju, Gyeonggi (Army 1st Corps).
At the signing ceremony, Kim Sun-ho, Vice Minister of National Defense, said, “We expect that the shortage of officer accommodations can be ‘immediately’ resolved through lease-based housing support,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to ensure that military officers working hard for national security can serve under better conditions.”
