Professor Kim Chang-yoon of Gyeongnam National University Appointed as the 19th President of the Korean Police Science Association
Professor Kim Chang-yoon of the Department of Police Science at Gyeongnam National University was recently inaugurated as the 19th president of the Korean Society of Police Science. The term of office for the president is one year, from January to December 2024.
Founded in 1998, the Korean Society of Police Science was established with Professor Lee Hwang-woo as its first president. It is a representative academic organization related to police science and criminology, with members including scholars specializing in police science, criminology, and criminal justice, as well as legal professionals, public officials, and many research institutions.

Professor Kim earned his Ph.D. in Police Science from Dongguk University and has served as a member of the Police Reform Task Force at the National Police Agency. In addition, he has contributed to the advancement of education and research as an expert in the field of police science. His major publications include "General Theory of Police Science," "Detailed Theory of Police Science," and "Criminology and Criminal Justice System Theory."
