23 Mongolian Nurse Trainees Visit Gyeonggi-do
The short-term training group of nursing staff from the Mongolian Health Development Institute in Gyeonggi-do visited the hospital, toured the facilities, and took a commemorative photo with hospital officials.
View original imageA group of nurses from public hospitals in medically underserved areas of Mongolia visited Gyeonggi Province for a tour of excellent medical institutions and training on medical policies.
Gyeonggi Province announced that from the 4th to the 8th, a nursing training group consisting of 22 nurses affiliated with Mongolian public hospitals recommended by the Center for Health Development (CHD) of Mongolia and one official from the Mongolian Ministry of Health, totaling 23 people, participated in the "2023 Mongolian Center for Health Development Nursing Workforce Gyeonggi Province Short-term Training."
During their visit, the training group visited Ajou University Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, and Siwha Hospital to directly experience the medical infrastructure of excellent medical institutions in the province and had time to learn about the local medical system through interviews with nursing teams within the hospitals.
They also studied health promotion projects conducted for the general public by visiting Yeoju Public Health Center and Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Icheon Hospital to learn about Gyeonggi Province's public medical policy and toured the facilities firsthand.
In particular, at the completion ceremony held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office on the 7th, Kim Jeong-mi, president of the Gyeonggi Nursing Association, gave a special lecture on "Korean Nursing Workforce Training and Education System, Nursing Ethics."
Earlier in August, Gyeonggi Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the health and medical field with the Mongolian Center for Health Development. This nursing training was conducted as a follow-up project at the request of the Mongolian Center for Health Development.

Yu Young-cheol, Director of the Health and Wellness Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The follow-up project was quickly promoted after the health and medical cooperation agreement with the Mongolian Center for Health Development," and promised, "We will actively support various medical personnel training programs inviting overseas medical personnel, not only from Mongolia but also from other countries in the future."
