Achieved Early Target of 3 Billion KRW in Innovative Product Purchases Including Vibration Dampers and Air Circulators in 2023... District Mayor Jeon Seongsu Pledges Full Support for Technological Innovation and Advanced Administrative Services Through Leading Innovative Product Procurement
Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) was selected as an outstanding institution in the 2023 first half innovation purchase performance evaluation hosted by the Public Procurement Service.
The district achieved 3 billion KRW, exceeding the target by 2.7 billion KRW through the purchase of innovative products this year, earning recognition for promoting public procurement of innovative products. As a result, it will receive the Public Procurement Service Commissioner’s Commendation for the first time among Seoul’s autonomous districts.
The Public Procurement Service evaluates innovation purchase performance and achievement rates from January to June each year and awards commendations to encourage the public sector to lead in purchasing innovative products, thereby supporting technological innovation in small and medium enterprises.
Innovative products are designated through review based on public interest and innovation to improve public services and technological innovation, and purchase performance on the ‘Innovation Market’ (Innovation Procurement Platform) is reflected in each institution’s evaluation.
In particular, the floor-type pedestrian signal and traffic control system purchased and installed by the Road Division in September this year have helped prevent traffic accidents and improve pedestrian convenience for residents.
Additionally, at the Seocho Smart Hub Center, an AI-based facial recognition technology using video analysis solutions was utilized to enable tracking of missing persons’ location routes via CCTV in case of disappearance.
Furthermore, innovative products recognized for their technological performance and competitiveness, such as air circulators and vibration prevention devices, were proactively purchased.
The district expects to improve the quality of public services and encourage growth by supporting technological innovation in small and medium enterprises through the purchase of various innovative products.
