Nootropic Lab is a startup that manufactures the nootropic energy drink 'Pure Focus.'
Nootropics refer to substances that enhance cognitive abilities, memory, attention, and concentration. These substances have rapidly spread mainly in Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and the Ivy League in the United States. Although not yet well known in Korea, Nootropic Lab is quickly creating the market.
South Korea is known as a country with intense educational enthusiasm. It is common to see students preparing for entrance exams constantly consuming energy drinks or coffee with high caffeine content. This is inevitably harmful to health. CEO Lee sees nootropics as an alternative at this point. He said, "It is a healthy beverage that does not contain caffeine, carbonation, or sugar."
CEO Lee emphasized, "We will change the global paradigm to healthy energy drinks through nootropics." The flagship product is Pure Focus. It has also attracted attention as the so-called 'Seoul National University drink' because it was co-developed with a subsidiary of Seoul National University Technology Holdings and carries the Seoul National University mark on the product. It is also praised for capturing consumer preferences with its refreshing taste. CEO Lee stated, "It is supplied to the largest study cafe company in Korea, Seoul National University, and high school cafeterias," adding, "There are continuous inquiries and contracts from various investors."
Next year, a new nootropic product (Pure Relax) will be launched. It is composed of ingredients that help relieve tension and aid sleep. He also revealed future plans to release nootropic products for infants and adults. CEO Lee stated that through this, "We will quickly dominate the domestic market first."
He also set a goal to secure individually recognized nootropic raw materials. Using this as a stepping stone, he aspires to expand into Asian countries such as Japan and Hong Kong. The global nootropic market is expected to grow more than threefold from 14 trillion won in 2021 to 44 trillion won by 2030.
