Rookie Jang Hyo-jun made smooth progress in securing a spot on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.
On the 3rd (local time), he recorded four birdies without any bogeys in the third round of the Qualifying (Q) Series held at Magnolia Grove Golf Course (par 71) in Mobile, Alabama, USA. He shot a 4-under-par 67, rising to a tie for 2nd place by one stroke (12-under-par 202). This tournament consists of 108 holes to be played through the 6th. The top 20 players will earn LPGA Tour cards for next year. Those ranked 21st to 45th will receive conditional status and Epson Tour (second-tier) cards.

Robin Choi (Australia) surged with a 7-under-par 64 to take the lead (13-under-par 201). Mao Saigo (Japan) and Mina Harigae (USA) joined the group tied for 2nd place. This year’s Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour multiple winner Lim Jin-hee lowered her score by five strokes to climb to a tie for 5th place (11-under-par 203). Lee So-mi, who was the leader the previous day, shot 1-under-par and dropped into this group. ‘Match Queen’ Sung Yoo-jin is tied for 10th place (9-under-par 205), while Lee Jeong-eun 5 and Hong Jeong-min are tied for 47th place (4-under-par 210).
