40s Man Who Caused 7-Car Chain Collision and Refused Breathalyzer Test Booked
A man in his 40s, the driver of the first vehicle involved in a chain collision of seven cars, has been booked by the police on charges including refusal to undergo a breathalyzer test.
The Incheon Western Police Station announced on the 3rd that A (47) was booked without detention on charges of dangerous driving causing injury under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes and refusal to undergo a breathalyzer test under the Road Traffic Act.
A is accused of causing a collision while driving a Mercedes-Benz at the intersection in Gajeong-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, at around 4:55 p.m. the previous day, injuring two other drivers including B (57).
The police collected hair samples from A to check for drug use and requested a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service. A tested negative in a preliminary drug screening test.
A’s vehicle collided with a QM3 car that was waiting at a traffic signal, then hit two other vehicles in the adjacent lane. The QM3 was pushed by the impact and collided with three vehicles ahead.
