Gwangju Bank Selects 9th and 10th 'Hope Blossoms Dream Tree'
Gwangju Bank announced on the 1st that it held a selection ceremony for the 9th and 10th recipients of the 'Hope Blossoms Dream Tree' program.
Gwangju Bank invited the selected youth dream trees and presented each with a sponsorship of 3 million KRW along with clothing, art supplies, and other gifts.
'Hope Blossoms Dream Tree' is a social contribution project promoted by Gwangju Bank to nurture local talent.
It is a program that supports middle and high school students in the region who strive for their dreams despite difficult family circumstances, selecting students with excellent academic and arts and sports achievements and good conduct, and sponsoring them through university admission.
The student selected as the 9th recipient is said to be a promising talent who, despite living as a protected child in a child welfare facility due to difficult family circumstances, has shown excellent academic performance and leadership.
The 10th recipient, also facing the difficult situation of a single-parent mother family, dreams of becoming an illustrator and has demonstrated outstanding talent with numerous awards in various competitions.
So far, a total of 10 children have been selected as Hope Blossoms Dream Trees, among whom recipients 1 through 4 have continued their paths as local talents in various fields, supported by Gwangju Bank’s talent development program even after entering university.
The 1st recipient is currently enrolled as a scholarship student at Oregon State University, and the 2nd recipient has grown into an athlete with numerous awards at the Gwangju Metropolitan City Disabled Sports Association.
The 3rd recipient entered the Department of Economics at Seoul National University, and the 4th recipient enrolled in the Business Administration Department at Chonnam National University, actively engaging in mentoring activities beyond academics.
The 5th recipient, who is currently receiving support, has shown excellence in Korean traditional dance and continues to perform with the Gwangju City Dance Company.

The 6th and 7th recipients are talents in the academic field, showing excellent academic performance, while the 8th recipient is a talent in sports dance, focusing on both academics and skill development, participating in competitions and achieving outstanding results.
