Baemin Announces Strengthened Support Measures for Riders Victimized by Verbal Abuse and Assault
Strengthening Support Measures Including Psychological and Legal Counseling for Riders
Also Promoting Emergency Medical Expense Support for Riders
Woowa Brothers (CEO Kim Byung-woo), which is in charge of the logistics services of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 30th that it has strengthened various follow-up support measures not only for the physical recovery but also for the emotional stability of Baedal Minjok riders who suffered unexpected damages during delivery operations.
Woowa Brothers announced that when Baedal Minjok riders suffer physical assault or verbal abuse from customers or business owners during delivery, they will actively implement additional follow-up protection measures in addition to the existing manual guidance and separation support.
So far, Woowa Brothers has taken measures such as ▲immediate site withdrawal and guidance ▲company bearing the cost of delivery food ▲immediate cancellation of dispatch to prevent further damage when riders are harmed or at risk of harm from customers or business owners. In addition, a system has been newly established to provide psychological counseling and legal consultation for riders who complain of psychological distress due to the damage situation.
First, Woowa Brothers established a system to provide psychological counseling services to riders who have suffered physical assault or verbal abuse from customers or business owners. In addition to the rider psychological care, which provides a total of five sessions per person, Woowa Brothers plans to actively support the emotional stability of riders at the company level.
Woowa Brothers will also strengthen the system supporting legal consultation for affected riders. This is to actively assist riders when legal action is necessary regarding the damage. They plan to introduce a legal advice support system for police investigations responding to assault situations and will provide more thorough support to protect riders.
Furthermore, Woowa Brothers is considering an 'emergency medical expense' support plan to provide urgent partial coverage of treatment costs for affected riders. This is to reduce the burden of emergency medical expenses during the industrial accident approval period if treatment is needed due to assault, and to prepare for cases where riders face financial difficulties. Baedal Minjok is devising a plan for the company to urgently support necessary treatment costs with minimal procedures.
Meanwhile, regarding the recent rider assault incidents, Woowa Brothers explained that they have offered various supports such as ▲psychological care programs ▲emergency treatment cost support ▲legal consultation support ▲Woowa Rider Care Fund consultation through multiple phone consultations to help riders recover as much as possible from the damages suffered.
