Jongno-gu Recruiting Participants for 'Donghaeng Job Project' Supporting Employment-Vulnerable Groups' Self-Reliance
Public Job Project to Support Livelihood and Independence of Employment-Vulnerable Groups... Seoul Donghaeng Jobs and Jongno-Type Safe Jobs Included, Total 157 Selected... Citizens Aged 18 and Over with Work Ability Can Apply by Visiting Local Community Center by December 8
Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) is promoting the '2024 First Half Jongno-gu Companion Job Project' to support the livelihood and self-reliance of employment-vulnerable groups and is accepting participation applications until December 8.
This project is based on the administrative policy of accompanying the vulnerable, focusing on mutual help and coexistence among the vulnerable, including Seoul Companion Jobs and Jongno-type Safe Jobs necessary for smooth district administration.
It provides various public jobs such as facility safety management and environmental maintenance, aiming to increase self-sufficiency motivation based on income compensation, and is conducted annually.
The employment period for selected candidates is from January 10 to June 30, 2024, and the total number of recruits is 157.
Anyone aged 18 or older with work ability who is a Seoul citizen as of the project start date can apply. However, recipients of livelihood benefits, unemployment benefits, and households exceeding 80% of the median income based on the combined household members are excluded.
Applicants must visit the community service center of their resident registration area by December 8 to fill out the application form, consent form for personal information provision, and submit other supporting documents.
The wage is 60,000 KRW for 6 hours of work per day, with an additional 6,000 KRW for incidental expenses. Weekly holiday and annual leave allowances are also provided, and the four major insurances are applied. Those aged 65 or older can work up to 4 hours per day, and due to the nature of the project, weekend and holiday work may be required.
Jongno-gu will select successful candidates in order of highest scores, reflecting property status and number of dependents, and announce the results on January 4, 2024. Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “We have launched the Companion Job Project to support the livelihood and income compensation of employment-vulnerable groups facing economic difficulties,” adding, “We plan to alleviate the hardships of residents struggling with high inflation and employment difficulties and contribute to creating a warm community where the vulnerable help each other.”
