Sejong University and SK Telecom Sign Business Agreement... Establishing Virtual Studio
Sejong University Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence and the LINC+ Project Group announced on the 28th that they have signed a business agreement for industry-academia cooperation with SK Telecom.

View original imageThe Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence at Sejong University was selected this year for a project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT to cultivate top-tier convergence talents in various metaverse content and related technology fields. It is fostering advanced talents through project-based courses focused on new virtual convergence industry fields, including digital humans and virtual production. The LINC+ Project Group is collaborating across various fields such as artificial intelligence and data science, centered on the Department of Cartoon Animation Technology and the College of Hotel and Tourism Management.
Both parties will jointly establish a virtual studio at Sejong University, equipped with large LED WALL devices capable of implementing various mixed reality (XR) experiences. This studio will replicate a virtual production environment similar to SK Telecom’s XR-specialized team studio located in Pangyo Second Techno Valley.

Professor Song Hyung-kyu of Sejong University, head of the Graduate School of Metaverse Convergence project group, stated, “Through this agreement, a system with the same environment as SK Telecom’s professional studio, which leads the global artificial intelligence (AI) content industry, will be implemented on campus.” He added, “Being perfectly synchronized with the industry’s production environment will be a significant advantage, allowing real-time reflection of industry trends in advanced video technology research and talent cultivation.”
