Democratic Party: "Yoon Government's Incompetence Causes Digital Disaster... Lee Sang-min Must Step Down"
The Democratic Party of Korea on the 25th demanded the resignation of Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, calling the government administrative network outage a "digital disaster caused by the incompetence of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."
Spokesperson Kang Seon-woo said in a written briefing that "the government administrative network went down four times in one week, causing not only the reputation as the world's top digital government but also public trust in the government to hit rock bottom."
He continued, "Since when did the world's top-level digital government become worse than a small neighborhood store?"
Spokesperson Kang criticized, "Minister Lee Sang-min, who said he would not let his guard down until the situation was fully normalized, ignored the crisis and went on an overseas business trip. Is this an escape trip? Is fleeing abroad whenever difficulties arise the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's crisis response manual?"
He added, "Minister Lee immediately upon returning promised to provide stable services to the public under any circumstances," and said, "This is truly outrageous. Are you mocking the people by turning the country back to the Stone Age where not even a resident registration certificate can be issued?"
He emphasized, "Minister Lee, who has never once protected the people during a disaster, stepping down is the right thing to do for the people and the first step to resolving the situation."
