Gwangju Students Share Kimchi with Neighbors in Need, Spreading Warmth
Students of Pyeongdong Middle School in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, are spreading warmth by sharing kimchi made from cabbages and radishes they grew themselves with neighbors in need.
On the 23rd, the faculty and students of Pyeongdong Middle School delivered 100 bags of homemade kimchi to the Pyeongdong Administrative Welfare Center, saying, "We made this for the local neighbors in need."
The kimchi was made using cabbages and radishes cultivated by the students at school.
With the hope that the neighbors in the village would have a healthy winter, they prepared the cabbages and radishes, salted them, mixed the seasonings, and made the kimchi.
Every year, the students make plum syrup in the summer to donate, and during the winter kimchi-making season, they prepare kimchi to share with their neighbors.
