Over 500 Participants in 9 Events
Samsung Electronics Service announced on the 24th that it held the '2023 Service Skills Competition' at the Samsung Electronics CS Academy in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, to select the best service experts.
The 'Service Skills Competition' is a contest to select outstanding talents with the best technical skills and expertise among about 5,500 service engineers responsible for after-sales service of Samsung Electronics products. Since its first implementation in 1986 as the first in the electronics after-sales service industry, the competition, now in its 28th year, has greatly contributed to improving customer service quality by nurturing excellent talents.

This year’s competition, sponsored by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, featured 500 participants competing in nine categories across two sections: 'Repair Skills Competition' and 'Service Innovation Case Presentation.'
The 'Repair Skills Competition' evaluates expertise in quickly and accurately repairing faulty products under conditions identical to actual service environments. Over 350 outstanding engineers recommended from about 300 service centers nationwide fiercely competed in five categories.
In particular, the evaluation reflected the customer need to "inspect multiple products simultaneously in a single service visit" for home appliances. Service engineers sequentially inspected and resolved issues in multiple products such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners within a set time.
The 'Service Innovation Case Presentation' section involves researching and presenting equipment or technologies that improve the efficiency of product inspections. Adopted ideas are utilized in actual service sites to enhance repair efficiency and work safety. The research is highly practical as it is based on direct experiences of service engineers in the field.
