Hwang Bo-seung-hee, who praised 'Lee Jun-seok's new party,' says "I have never received an offer to join"
Independent lawmaker Hwang Bo-seung-hee, formerly of the People Power Party, who gained attention for describing the new party being promoted by former leader Lee Jun-seok as a "political innovation," stated that she has "not been offered to join" the party.
On the 22nd, Hwang said on her social media, "Recently, some reporters have asked me, 'Are you going to Lee Jun-seok's new party?' and 'Have you been offered to join?' regarding my comment that former leader Lee's digital party platform is a political innovation. However, I have never been offered to join the new party nor have I ever seriously considered joining," clarifying her position.
On the 19th, she shared an article about former leader Lee organizing a contact network for the new party's founding through a 'Google Form,' and positively evaluated it by saying, "Transitioning to a platform party with low cost and high efficiency is one form of political innovation and is the optimal way to complement the limitations of representative democracy."
However, she explained that this does not mean she intends to join the new party. Hwang said, "Basically, I believe that the People Power Party should unify and harmonize to contest the general election together with former leader Lee," adding, "It is a time to come together with inclusion and harmony, not division and conflict."
