'80% of Pyeongtaek City's 8th Term Elected Mayor's Promises Are Progressing Normally.'
On the 22nd, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province held a progress report meeting on the 8th term elected mayor's promise projects at the city hall's comprehensive situation room, where Mayor Jeong Jang-seon reviewed the 222 promise projects across 9 major sectors.

About 30 people, including heads of departments and divisions responsible for the promise projects, attended the meeting to discuss the progress, future plans, and measures for underperforming projects.
At the meeting, the city explained that out of the total 222 promise projects across 9 sectors, 40 projects, accounting for 18.0%, have been completed or are being pursued with additional goals set. Major completed promises include ▲establishment of the Youth Policy Division ▲expansion of coverage for citizen safety insurance ▲establishment of a safety system for infant care facilities ▲formation of the Pyeongtaek Port cultural tourism cluster ▲strengthening welfare for farmers' basic income, among others. The city plans to complete an additional 12 promise projects by the end of this year.
The city also added that 177 projects, including ▲creation of a carbon-neutral hydrogen complex zone at Pyeongtaek Port ▲comprehensive overhaul of public transportation routes ▲early completion of Ajou University Pyeongtaek Hospital, are progressing normally.
Deputy Mayor Choi Won-yong urged, "Please do your best to comprehensively analyze the timing, budget, and legal procedures of the ongoing promise projects so that the commitments made to citizens can be fulfilled within the term."
Mayor Jeong Jang-seon said, "I will do my best to fulfill the promise projects, which are precious commitments to the citizens."

Meanwhile, the city plans to establish a transparent and trustworthy administrative model by having citizens directly inspect the status of promise fulfillment through the operation of a citizen promise evaluation group at the end of the year.
