Busan City is stepping up its final promotional efforts to attract the 2030 Busan World Expo in Paris, France, ahead of the decision on the host city for the 2030 World Expo.
First, on November 28, the city will rent the Contouwadissi Cafe located at the entrance to the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) General Assembly hall and operate the 2030 Busan World Expo promotion zone called ‘Bistro Busan.’
The cafe is located close to the General Assembly hall where the vote to decide the host city for the 2030 World Expo will take place, so Busan plans to actively promote the 2030 Busan World Expo to attendees until the very last moment of the decision.
Additionally, the city will live broadcast the bidding competition presentation (PT) and the voting results during the General Assembly, and provide lunch boxes and light catering to visitors on a voluntary donation basis.
Next, part of the space at the Korean Cultural Center in France will be rented and operated as a cheering venue for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid from the 27th to the 28th.
In the courtyard of the Cultural Center, a Bear Balloon artwork by artist Lim Ji-bin from Busan will be installed, and an event allowing visitors to experience Korean culture, such as traditional tea, will be held.
Also, on the 6th floor of the Cultural Center, the bidding competition presentation (PT) and voting results will be broadcast so that local Korean residents and 2030 Busan World Expo supporters can watch and cheer.
Furthermore, starting from the 24th, a large outdoor advertisement 10 meters high will be posted on the outer wall of the Robert Schuman Sports Center in Paris, France, and from the 22nd, digital advertisements will be conducted using nine standing panels on the road leading to the General Assembly hall, aiming to show the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) officials the strong desire of Busan, Republic of Korea, to host the Expo.
The design of the outdoor advertisement on the sports center’s outer wall features a child holding a balloon, symbolizing the spirit of peace and prosperity for humanity pursued by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) announced by the UN and the 2030 Busan World Expo, expressing the hopes of future generations.
