'Gyeonggi Shared School' Collaborating with Local Communities to Expand to 31 Regions Next Year
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is expanding the 'Gyeonggi Shared Schools,' which guarantee student-tailored education and diverse learning opportunities in cooperation with local communities, to 31 regions.
Gyeonggi Shared Schools are off-campus learning platforms that utilize local experts and educational resources to enable students to learn more broadly and deeply in their areas of interest, realizing individualized education outside the traditional school setting.
This year, the Provincial Office of Education developed a region-customized Gyeonggi Shared Schools model centered on six pilot education support offices: ▲Gwangju·Hanam ▲Dongducheon·Yangju ▲Siheung ▲Yongin ▲Yeoju ▲Yeoncheon.
The Office plans to expand Gyeonggi Shared Schools to 31 regions next year and is preparing various region-customized programs, focusing on 25 education support offices within the province, including identifying educational resources, analyzing the needs of educational communities, and supporting the establishment of shared school promotion councils.
