A man in his 30s from China assaulted a Korean man and threatened him with a weapon. On the 20th, the Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that they have apprehended and are investigating a Chinese man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of special intimidation. Mr. A is accused of assaulting a Korean man in his 30s, Mr. B, and threatening him with a weapon near a residential area in Guro-gu, Seoul, around 8 p.m. on the 11th.
The crime scene was near the home of a Chinese woman who is an acquaintance of Mr. B. Mr. A and Mr. B were strangers and met for the first time that day. Mr. B became angry upon seeing three Chinese people, including Mr. A, conversing in Chinese, and left the house. Mr. A then followed Mr. B with a weapon, assaulted him, and threatened him, according to the investigation. Police, responding to the victim’s report, analyzed CCTV footage and promptly arrested Mr. A.
