Handonghun, Gominjeong on 'Gwanchong' Criticism: "It Would Be Difficult to Lead a Normal Social Life"
Rebuttal to Gominjeong's Criticism at the National Assembly Budget Committee
"Rather, the Opposition Party Is the One Drawing Attention"
Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon claimed that "the Democratic Party, which is trying to paralyze the government by abusing illegal impeachment, is attracting the public's intense attention," in response to Go Min-jung, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who described him as a "gwanjong" (attention seeker).
On the 9th, during the comprehensive policy questioning at the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, when Lee Yong-ho, a member of the People Power Party, asked, "There was an incident where a certain Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party personally insulted and humiliated the Minister of Justice by calling him a 'gwanjong.' Do you have any comments?" Minister Han responded accordingly.

Minister Han said, "I also heard that remark, and it is a derogatory expression close to an insult aimed at someone who forcibly wants to attract attention."
He continued, "Most of our citizens who live normal social lives do not publicly direct such words at specific individuals because doing so would make normal social life difficult. However, it is somewhat surprising that those who claim to represent the people repeatedly make such remarks publicly on broadcasts, unlike the general public."

Supreme Council Member Go had described Minister Han as a "gwanjong" on CBS Radio the previous day. This expression came up during her criticism of Minister Han's stance of "do it if you want" regarding the Democratic Party's push for his impeachment. Go said, "Watching that statement, people call it 'gwanjong.' He is deeply trapped in the delusion that the whole world is watching only him."
