Launch of 6 Types of Baeksul Rice Bowl Sauces
CJ CheilJedang Baeksul has launched an attack on the convenient sauce market by emphasizing authentic overseas flavors.
On the 9th, CJ CheilJedang announced the release of ‘Baeksul Deopbap Sauce.’ This product consists of six types of deopbap sauces: ‘Kapao Mu Sap,’ ‘Cream Chicken Makni Curry,’ ‘Mapo Tofu,’ ‘Coconut Crab Meat Phu Phat Phong Curry,’ ‘Spam Kimchi,’ and ‘Truffle Meat Jjajang.’ You simply microwave it for one minute and pour it over rice to enjoy. This is the first ‘Simple Cooking (easy-to-cook)’ product introduced since CJ CheilJedang renewed Baeksul as a cooking solution brand in April.
Baeksul Deopbap Sauce is based on the concept of ‘World’s Dining Table,’ featuring menus commonly enjoyed in households not only in Korea but also in Thailand, India, and China. These exotic yet familiar dishes allow consumers to enjoy them without hesitation. Unlike existing convenient sauces, which mostly consisted of curry and jjajang, this product offers a variety of menus from different countries.
The sauces also capture local flavors through key ingredients for each menu. ‘Cream Chicken Makni Curry’ recreates a sweet and tangy Indian-style curry using tomato and coconut cream powder, while ‘Kapao Mu Sap’ delivers the spicy and savory taste of Thai-style deopbap sauce by stir-frying minced pork and basil. Additionally, all products include key ingredients such as tofu, doubanjiang, crab meat, and scrambled eggs to enhance taste and texture, including ‘Mapo Tofu’ and ‘Coconut Crab Meat Phu Phat Phong Curry.’
