Jo Ok-hyun, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member, "Wando Public Library Project Absolutely Necessary"
Concerns have been raised that the Wando Office of Education's measures regarding the construction of the Wando Public Library are insufficient.
Jo Ok-hyun, a member of the Education Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Mokpo 2), requested during the administrative audit of the Wando Office of Education held on the 8th, "The Wando area definitely needs a public library operated by an educational institution," and asked, "Please provide the current status of the Wando Public Library project."
Kim Jeong-seon, the Superintendent of Education, responded, "The construction of the Wando Public Library has lacked effectiveness because the sites proposed so far in Wando County were either unavailable or located far away," and added, "Separately, Wando County plans to newly pursue its own library, not a county library, by 2025."
In response, Committee Member Jo pointed out, "The Wando County Library is located on a steep slope, making it difficult for local residents to use it properly," and emphasized, "Even if the local government is managing the library well, it is necessary to promote a public library operated by an educational institution."
