Suncheon-si Launches AI Chatbot Service for Civil Complaints Consultation

24-Hour Real-Time Civil Complaint Response Service Provided

Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it has launched a 24-hour real-time civil complaint response artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot service, an online window for civil complaint consultations.

The city has applied the 'Civil Complaint Guidance Chatbot Service,' which can respond to civil complaints in real time 24 hours a day, on the Suncheon City website and the official KakaoTalk channel. It analyzes civil complaint contents received through city administrative information and the civil complaint call center to provide Q&A services covering 450 types across 24 fields.

The official name of the chatbot is ‘Irumi,’ meaning ‘Lumi that provides beneficial information.’ The chatbot’s dedicated icon uses the city mascots ‘Lumi and Ddungi,’ and the user interface (UI) is designed in green to symbolize an ecological city where people and nature coexist.

With the introduction of the chatbot service, citizens can reduce the hassle of visiting city hall or administrative welfare centers or making phone inquiries for simple civil complaints, and conveniently use the service anytime without time restrictions through Q&A.

In particular, simple and repetitive civil complaint consultation tasks can be handled through the AI-powered chatbot service, which is expected to improve the work efficiency of city employees.

The newly introduced AI chatbot system answers general and broad questions about simple civil complaints, but its responses become more accurate over time through self-learning.

The city plans to further advance the existing chatbot system in the future by linking it with other systems to enable one-stop civil complaint applications directly within the chat window, including various facility reservations and course registrations.
