Ulsan Office of Education Secures Over 3.3 Billion Won in Special Grants for Local Education Issues
Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has secured 3.305 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of Education for regional education projects in the second half of this year.
The Ministry of Education provides special grants from the local education finance grants when special regional education needs arise in city and provincial offices of education.
The special grants secured this time include 2.03 billion KRW for the expansion of the preservation storage at Ulju Library, 666 million KRW for the improvement of the cafeteria at Gaeun Elementary School, and 690 million KRW for the improvement of the cafeteria at Onsan Middle School.
Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to add 3.227 billion KRW from its own budget, making the total project cost 6.532 billion KRW to carry out these projects.
Since its opening in 1991, Ulju Library's archive space has been saturated. Accordingly, Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to expand the preservation storage by 900㎡ with a project cost of 2.827 billion KRW.
Since its establishment in 1999, Gaeun Elementary School's cafeteria facilities have aged and are located underground, resulting in insufficient lighting and ventilation in the kitchen and dining area. Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to renovate the kitchen and install ventilation facilities with a project cost of 2.623 billion KRW.
Onsan Middle School, which started providing meals in 2004, has aging cafeteria facilities and lacks windows in the kitchen, causing insufficient lighting and ventilation.
