Gwangjin-gu Holds Resident Briefing on Temporary Parking Lot Creation at Former Pediatric Clinic Site
Temporary Parking Lot with 129 Spaces to Open from January Next Year at 29-1 Junggok-dong, Approximately 4,875㎡
District Chief Kim Kyung-ho States, "We Will Listen to Residents' Diverse Opinions and Communicate to Ensure Positive Changes in Gwangjin Are Felt"
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held a residents' briefing session on the temporary opening of a parking lot on the site of the former Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic at the Junggok 3-dong Community Center auditorium on the 6th for nearby local residents.
The district has been promoting a complex development project on the site of the former Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic since December last year. Since it is a time-consuming project, the plan is to utilize the idle land to create a temporary parking lot before construction begins, absorbing the parking demand in the nearby area and alleviating chronic parking difficulties.
The temporary parking lot will be established at 29-1 Junggok-dong, covering approximately 4,875㎡ with a total of 129 spaces, and will operate from January next year until the start of construction of the complex development facility.
The district completed the design service for the temporary parking lot in June. To ensure smooth operation of this temporary parking lot, a communication session was held with local residents to explain the current status of the site and the development plans.
Users of the temporary parking lot will be selected from applicants among the residents-priority parking waiting list in Junggok 3 and 4-dong, applying a scoring system based on residency period and special bonus points. Additionally, hourly parking will be applied for flexible operation.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We plan to build a complex development facility to provide space for residents and solve the chronic parking difficulties of Junggok-dong residents,” adding, “We hope that the creation of the temporary parking lot before construction begins will somewhat alleviate the parking difficulties.”
