Hana Tour achieved remarkable performance for the first time since COVID-19, leveraging the increasing demand for its core overseas travel packages and the competitiveness of its differentiated products.
Hana Tour announced on the 7th that its consolidated operating profit for the third quarter of this year was 13.2 billion KRW, turning profitable compared to an operating loss of 21.8 billion KRW in the same period last year. This is the highest quarterly performance since the first quarter of 2018, continuing a profit trend for three consecutive quarters this year. During the same period, sales also reached 126.7 billion KRW, up 238.35% year-on-year, achieving the highest quarterly performance since COVID-19.
The third quarter, which includes summer vacation and the Chuseok holiday, is traditionally considered the peak season in the travel industry. During this period, the number of package travelers sent out by Hana Tour was 360,000, a 31% increase compared to the previous quarter (270,000). Additionally, the mid- to high-priced package "Hana Pack 2.0," which is self-structured to focus solely on travel by excluding group shopping and optional tours, accounted for 37% of sales based on cumulative customer numbers, showing a growth of 30 percentage points from 7% in the same period of 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak.
