G-Dragon Denies Drug Allegations... Responds "We Will See" to Questions About Entertainment Venues (Comprehensive)
Singer G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong), who is suspected of drug use, was summoned by the police on the 6th.
Kwon, who is suspected of drug offenses under the Narcotics Control Act, voluntarily appeared at the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division office of the Incheon Police Agency located at Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station around 1:20 p.m. that day. It has been 15 days since he was booked as a suspect.
Getting out of the vehicle with his bodyguard, Kwon responded to reporters' questions asking, "Do you admit to the drug use charges?" by saying, "I have not committed any drug-related crimes," and added, "I came here to clarify that, so rather than talking at length now, I will undergo the investigation quickly."
When asked whether he considered the police investigation to be excessive and if he had ever visited entertainment establishments in Gangnam, Seoul, he briefly replied, "We will see." When asked, "When did you dye or bleach your hair?" he said, "I have never done that."
The police plan to conduct a preliminary reagent test on Kwon that day to first confirm whether he used drugs, then collect urine and hair samples to request a detailed analysis from the National Forensic Service. They also secured his mobile phone through voluntary submission and plan to investigate his relationship with an active doctor who allegedly supplied drugs to Kwon through A (female, 29, detained), the manager of an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul.
Earlier, Kwon stated through his lawyer that he "has not used drugs" and "will actively cooperate with the investigation authorities." The lawyer’s side said, "To promptly resolve the injustice through a swift investigation and quick establishment of the substantive truth, we have voluntarily submitted all necessary materials for the investigation and conveyed to the police that we will actively participate in hair and urine tests."
