Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun Launches 'Emergency Economic AS Field Visit' to Revitalize Robot Industry
Visit to Busan's Leading Robot SI Company 'STS Robotech' at 3:50 PM on the 6th
Linking Policy and Field Communication, Preparing Support Measures to Overcome Regional Economic Crisis
On the 6th at 3:50 PM, Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, will visit STS Robotech, a leading Busan robot SI (System Integration) company located in the Sasang Industrial Complex, as part of the emergency economic AS field visit.
SI (System Integration) refers to the provision of all services from information planning required by a company to development, construction, and further to operation.
The emergency economic AS field visit is a follow-up measure to the ‘Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting’ held by the city, designed to prepare highly effective support measures by linking policy and field communication and to overcome the local economic crisis.
This visit follows the city’s decision at the 39th Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting on October 26 to focus on fostering the advanced robotics industry, a core sector of digital transformation.
It also responds to the expectations of the Busan Robot Industry Association and companies, who wish for more attention to the revitalization of Busan’s robotics industry.
STS Robotech is a company that develops robot services tailored to customers’ needs based on the characteristics and business of collaborative robots, providing robot products and customized robot solutions. Since its establishment in 2021, it has successfully completed over 300 projects and steadily grown each year, capturing 9.1% of the domestic collaborative robot market in 2022, making it one of Busan’s representative robot companies.
Collaborative robots are small to medium-sized robots equipped with safety features that allow humans and robots to work together in the same space.
On the day, Mayor Park will first tour the STS Robotech site, including demonstrations of food container robots, collaborative robots, and service robots, encouraging employees and communicating with them.
Following this, he will hold a meeting with the CEO and Head of Business Planning of STS Robotech to directly hear the voices from the field regarding current issues and difficulties in Busan’s robotics industry and discuss ways to develop the industry together.
Notably, the meeting will be attended by Mayor Park Hyung-jun, the Director of the Future Industry Bureau, the Head of Industrial Location Division, and officials from related organizations involved in robotics industry revitalization such as the Korea Institute of Robot Convergence and Busan Technopark.
