Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Encourages the 14th Mapo District Mayor's Kendo Tournament
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the 14th Mapo District Mayor's Kendo Tournament held at the Mapo District Sports Center on the morning of the 4th.
Hosted by Mapo District and organized by the Mapo District Sports Council, the tournament was graced by the participation of about 200 people, including members of two clubs and the association president.
The opening ceremony of the day proceeded with the return of the championship flag from last year's winning team, the awarding of commendations and encouragement speeches by Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, and the oath by the players' representative. Following this, the official kendo matches began at 11 a.m.

Mayor Park Gang-su stated, "Kendo is a martial art that trains both body and mind simultaneously, and I believe it is one of the exercises that can have a positive impact on modern people." He added, "Through this tournament, I hope kendo can establish itself as a sport that people of all ages and genders can enjoy, and Mapo District will take the lead in popularizing and expanding the base of kendo."
