Hyundai Motor Group Wins 11 Categories at US Newsweek Auto Awards
Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and Genesis announced on the 2nd that they won awards in 11 categories at the '2023 Autos Awards' hosted by the prominent U.S. news magazine Newsweek.
Hyundai Motor Group swept 11 out of 39 categories, with Kia winning 8, Hyundai Motor 2, and Genesis 1. This marks the third consecutive year the automotive group has won the most awards.
Newsweek conducted a comprehensive evaluation of about 200 vehicles this year across seven categories: ▲performance ▲handling and braking ▲technology ▲storage space ▲seat comfort ▲interior ▲price. After the evaluation, winners were announced for each category.
The Kia EV9 received the 'Best Premium SUV' and 'Best SUV Interior' awards. Kia explained that the grand design, various seat configurations and interior, ample cargo space, and the Kia Connect Store, a car subscription service, which provided a new mobility experience, were highly praised.
The Carnival maintained its position as 'Best Minivan' for three consecutive years due to its excellent interior space, various convenience features, and comfortable driving feel. The Seltos was selected as the 'Most Improved Vehicle' and 'Best Small SUV' for its product competitiveness and reasonable price.
The Sportage was recognized as the 'Best Two-Row SUV' for its diverse technologies such as a 12.3-inch navigation system, lane-keeping and rear parking assist functions, and smart cruise control.
Additionally, Kia was named the 'Most Innovative Vehicle Brand.' The outstanding product quality of Kia’s SUV lineup, including the flagship electric SUV EV9, Seltos, and Sportage, was acknowledged, earning Kia the title of 'Best SUV Lineup.'
Hyundai Motor’s Santa Cruz was named 'Best Small Pickup Truck' for the third consecutive year due to its spacious cargo area and high product value based on advanced technology. Along with this, Hyundai Motor was selected as the 'Best Brand for Your Buck' for three consecutive years. The electrified model of the Genesis GV70 was chosen as the 'Vehicle Editor’s Pick' for its dynamic driving performance and advanced features.
