Busan Port Authority Builds Database for Important Records
Busan Port Authority (BPA) will establish a database (DB) for important records starting in November to systematically preserve and utilize non-electronic (paper) records and audiovisual records.
They plan to sequentially database important records with high utilization and evidential value among various records produced since the authority's establishment in January 2004.
This month, about 100 volumes (20,000 pages) of records with a preservation period of over 30 years and approximately 23,000 photos will be digitized and registered in the Records Management System, with plans to continuously add more records thereafter.
The reason BPA is building a records database is to prevent loss or damage to important records produced in paper or photo form and to enhance administrative efficiency and public service levels through systematic and stable management.
In 2021, BPA became the first public enterprise to establish and operate a work management system, records management system, and function classification system, sharing related experiences with 71 institutions and playing a leading role in the management of public records.
