Tomorrow at Paju Donghwa Gyeongmo Park, the 2nd Anniversary Memorial Ceremony for the Late Roh Tae-woo
The 2nd anniversary memorial service for the late former President Roh Tae-woo will be held on the afternoon of the 26th at Donghwa Memorial Park in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

View original imageAccording to the Roh Tae-woo Center of the Ordinary People's Era Foundation on the 25th, political figures from both ruling and opposition parties will attend the memorial service, including Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader, and Moon Hee-sang, senior advisor of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Former and current government officials will also be present, such as Lee Jin-bok, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs of the Presidential Secretariat, Park Bo-gyun, former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kang Kyung-wha, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Noh Young-min, former Chief of Staff of the Presidential Secretariat.
Roh Tae-woo’s son, Noh Jae-heon, director of the East Asia Culture Center, along with Kim Hyun-chul, second son of former President Kim Young-sam (YS) and chairman of the Kim Young-sam Presidential Foundation, and Kim Hong-eop, second son of former President Kim Dae-jung (DJ) and chairman of the Kim Dae-jung Asia-Pacific Peace Center, who regularly meet, will attend again following last year’s 1st anniversary memorial service.
Park Bo-gyun, former Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will reflect on President Roh Tae-woo under the theme “Roh Tae-woo’s Whistle,” and a memorial session will be held where attendees can listen to the late president’s own voice.
For the memorial performance, trumpeter Professor Sung Jae-chang, tenor John No, and accordionist Alexander Sheikin will perform songs that the late president enjoyed listening to or singing. Following the closing ceremony, participants will proceed to pay tribute and offer incense at President Roh Tae-woo’s gravesite.

However, Park Ji-man, CEO and chairman of EG and son of former President Park Chung-hee, a member of the regular meeting group, is reported to be absent due to personal reasons. Jeon Jae-guk, chairman of Music World and son of former President Jeon Du-hwan, who attended last year’s memorial service, is also said to have conveyed that he will be unable to attend.
