Kakao Games Confirms Employee Leak of 'Odin'
An internal employee of Kakao Games has been confirmed to have leaked update information of the company's flagship title, 'Odin: Valhalla Rising' (hereafter Odin), in advance.
On the 25th, Kakao Games stated, "We sincerely apologize for the misconduct by an employee within Kakao Games." They added, "The employee had been playing (Odin) even before joining the company," and "They shared some inspection posts and completion timings with a small number of guild members, through which they gained certain advantages."
It is known that the employee distributed related information to their guild members before the Odin update was implemented. There were also allegations that the employee encouraged 'hoarding' by claiming that prices of some in-game currencies would change due to the update. Kakao Games is currently excluding the employee from work, seizing and permanently suspending their account, and preparing disciplinary actions.
This misconduct is presumed to have taken place on the encrypted messenger platform 'Discord.' Kakao Games plans to improve employee management and training, as well as access rights to sensitive information in the future.

Both inside and outside Kakao are taking the ongoing misconduct by internal employees seriously. Last month, the former CFO (Vice President) of Kakao's finance group was reported to the police by the labor union on charges of breach of trust and embezzlement for purchasing game items worth about 100 million won using a corporate card.
