Busan Office of Education Seeks Agencies for Residential Character English and Math Camp
Selection of 5 Universities in the Busan Area
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is publicly recruiting private consignment operators for the ‘Residential Character English and Math Camp’ until November 7.
This camp aims to enhance the educational capacity of students in the old downtown and western Busan areas and to reduce educational disparities between regions. It addresses the learning gap of low-income vulnerable students during vacation periods and fosters community capabilities through character education.
The eligibility for this public recruitment is universities that, as of the announcement date on the 18th, have a campus (main campus) in Busan and operate lifelong education centers, language/foreign language education centers, or dormitories.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will select five universities as consignment operators through this recruitment. The selected universities will operate the camp for three weeks each during the 2023 winter vacation and the 2024 summer vacation periods.
The universities must plan and operate the camp programs, including ▲development and operation of the residential character English and math camp program ▲training and management of program instructors ▲management of academic improvement outcomes.
Universities wishing to participate must submit their project plans from October 31 to November 7. Detailed information can be found on the Office of Education’s website under ‘News Announcements.’
After the application deadline, the Busan Office of Education plans to finalize the selection of five universities by the end of November through evaluation by the ‘Consignment Selection Review Committee’ based on project execution plans, program operation capabilities, and expertise.
After selecting the consignment institutions, the Office of Education plans to recruit first-year middle school students to participate in the camp and operate the winter vacation camp in January next year.
Participating students will engage in various educational activities such as level-based immersive English and math education, special programs prepared by the universities, cultural and artistic experience programs, and character development growth programs. All expenses will be fully supported by the Office of Education.
