Electric Vehicle Fire Explosions to Be Solved by SMEs and Ventures Through R&D
High-Risk, High-Performance R&D Project Announcement
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced on the 23rd that three projects have been finally selected for the 'High-Risk, High-Performance R&D Project,' which is being promoted as a national agenda. The High-Risk, High-Performance R&D Project sets challenging goals to encourage SMEs and startups to boldly take on high-risk research and development (R&D), providing joint public-private support worth 10 billion KRW, guaranteeing research autonomy, and reducing the burden of failure.
The three projects confirmed this time are ▲Development of triple thermal management materials for secondary batteries to fundamentally block fire and explosion risks ▲Development of a highly refractive flexible robot platform for minimally invasive surgery ▲Development of ultra-precise thickness measurement technology for complex multilayer thin films on 300mm wafers.
According to this announcement, project-performing companies will be selected by the end of the year, and if Scale-up TIPS operators discover, invest in, and recommend them, the government will evaluate and make the final selection of the performing companies.
