Kim Jaewon: "If In Yohan Proposes Innovation in Nomination Rules, the Party Must Accept It"
In response to the defeat in the Gangseo District Office by-election, the People Power Party, which is pushing for reform, has appointed Professor In Yo-han of Yonsei University College of Medicine, the protagonist of the 'first special naturalization,' as the chairman of the Innovation Committee to lead the party's innovation. Kim Jae-won, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party, raised his voice, saying, "The party needs to accept the Innovation Committee chairman's innovation plan."
On the 23rd, Kim, a Supreme Council member, said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "If the innovation plan is brushed aside, the party could fall into a bigger crisis, so I think accepting the innovation plan is a good thing."

Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, also announced a policy to "grant full authority to the Innovation Committee."
Kim, the Supreme Council member, said that the Innovation Committee also needs to discuss the nomination rules. He said, "From the perspective of ordinary people, there should be plans to field many good talents in elections, or conversely, ways to filter out unqualified candidates. I think changes in the nomination rules in this manner are necessary," adding, "If the Innovation Committee chairman proposes such plans, the party should thoroughly discuss and accept them."
Regarding Professor In, he said, "Since he has not been active in politics, he will have time to view our People Power Party from a new perspective," and added, "I think he is someone with the insight on how the People Power Party should change, so he will provide many ideas and demonstrate insight into the party's transformation."
Some voices express concern that the 'In Yo-han Innovation Committee' may not produce results different from the Democratic Party's 'Kim Eun-kyung Innovation Committee,' which ended without significant achievements. In response, Kim said, "When Hong Joon-pyo was the Innovation Committee chairman in 2005, there was a demand to accept the proposals from the Innovation Committee as they were, without changing a single word, and that was actually done. Since then, there have been no cases where innovation plans were rejected or rendered ineffective, and I believe the same result will come this time as well."
However, he also suggested that some compromise is necessary, saying, "The Innovation Committee is not omnipotent, and although I don't know exactly what kind of proposals it will come up with, I think it will understand the party's position and communicate together to present innovation plans."

Regarding the decline in President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating following the Gangseo District Office by-election defeat, he said, "When a by-election is held normally, there is a short-term drop in the approval ratings of the president and the party," adding, "In many cases, this is not because it is the president's fault, but because there is a psychological collective phenomenon where if I have complaints, others also have complaints, causing the poll results to drop. If this is overcome well, the ratings recover quickly."
