KB Securities Arranges Acquisition Financing for US Major Publisher M&A
KB Securities will participate as an acquisition finance arranger in the sale of Simon & Schuster, one of the three major publishing companies in the United States.
According to the investment banking (IB) industry and KB Securities on the 19th, KB Securities will participate as an acquisition finance arranger in the deal where Paramount Global of the United States sells Simon & Schuster to the global private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), raising $150 million (approximately 203.8 billion KRW).
The total acquisition price for this merger and acquisition (M&A) is $1.62 billion, of which the acquisition financing amounts to $1.21 billion.
Simon & Schuster is the third-largest publisher in the United States, contracted with bestselling authors such as Stephen King, who wrote "Misery" and "The Shawshank Redemption," Colin Hoover, and Walter Isaacson, and currently holds intellectual property (IP) rights for more than 36,000 books.

This acquisition financing attracted demand three times the amount raised, and KB Securities is known to be the only domestic financial company participating, leveraging its network with overseas IBs and extensive track record in overseas acquisition financing.
