Living the Real Samgim through Virtual Reality Games... CU and Zepeto Event
'CU Jump&Run' Opens in Zepeto
First Virtual Points in Zepeto

CU announced on the 17th that it will launch a new 'Branded World Map' inspired by popular convenience store products on the avatar-based social platform Zepeto, marking its first real-world linked event.
In 2021, CU opened three locations including the world's first metaverse convenience store, 'CU Zepeto Hangang Branch,' in collaboration with Zepeto. Zepeto has over 400 million users worldwide and is gaining popularity among Generation Z, the future customers of convenience stores, in South Korea.
The new world map 'CU Jump & Run' introduced by CU and Zepeto is the first in Zepeto to implement metaverse commerce in an event format, allowing virtual points to be used at actual CU stores.
Until now, CU Zepeto convenience stores had a strong experiential nature as virtual spaces, and commerce was limited to avatar customization items. However, through this new map, CU Jump & Run points can be used to purchase triangle kimbap at offline stores.
The CU Jump & Run map is designed with a game concept. Players can enjoy three types of gameplay?Dessert Run, Samgim Jump, and Spinning Kimbap?using various products commonly found at offline CU stores, such as hot bars, desserts, and triangle kimbap. Points are awarded differentially for logging in, participating, and winning stages. When players reach 100 coins, they receive a random number code which can be entered into CU's commerce application, Pocket CU, to redeem a triangle kimbap gifticon at stores.
An authentication event will be held alongside the map launch. Players who record videos of themselves playing on the CU Jump & Run map and post them on their Zepeto personal feed will have a chance to win generous prizes such as iPads.
Since CU's entry into Zepeto, approximately 60 million users have visited related maps over the past year. CU-related posts, views, likes, and comments have totaled about 18 million. CU items have sold around 2 million units to date. After the recent renewal of the CU Hangang Park Branch map, daily visitors surged by 596% compared to the previous month. Over 20,000 participants joined the renewal missions within a week, and about 100,000 units of the popular convenience store item Yonsei Milk Cream Bread were sold.
