Driver Maintaining Truck on Slope Dies After Being Crushed by Vehicle Wheel
A driver who was repairing a truck on a slope was crushed by a slipping vehicle wheel and died, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Naju Police Station in Jeollanam-do on the 16th, around 5 p.m. on the 14th, a man in his 70s, Mr. A, was crushed under the front wheel of his 15-ton truck while repairing it on a slope inside a ready-mixed concrete factory in Naju-si.
Mr. A, who suffered severe injuries all over his body in the accident, was transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team but was reported dead.
Police investigation revealed that although the truck's parking brake was engaged at the time of the accident, wheel chocks to secure the vehicle wheels were not installed.
