Ministry of the Interior and Safety Holds 'Briefing Session on Strengthening Support Measures for Vulnerable Households'
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Smart Welfare and Safety Community Promotion Team announced on the 16th that it will hold a "Briefing Session on Strengthening Support Measures for Vulnerable Households through Public-Private Cooperation" at the Government Sejong Complex on the 17th, with about 200 welfare officials from cities, counties, and districts nationwide attending.
This briefing session will introduce the 'Public-Private Cooperation Measures' for supporting vulnerable households and the 'Welfare Registered Mail Service' project. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will present 'Public-Private Cooperation Measures' to enable local governments to provide faster support to vulnerable households and implement welfare projects tailored to regional characteristics. Additionally, the Community Chest of Korea will introduce the 'Sharing Network Project,' a public-private cooperation initiative currently being conducted in collaboration with Seoul City, and explain it so that other cities, counties, and districts can benchmark it.
The Korea Post will promote the nationwide expansion of the 'Welfare Registered Mail Service' project, in which postal workers deliver mail containing welfare information to households suspected to be in welfare blind spots and relay identified crisis information to local governments (currently in agreement with 55 local governments).

Goo Bon-geun, head of the Smart Welfare and Safety Community Promotion Team, emphasized, "As the situations faced by vulnerable households and the welfare resources to be connected become increasingly diverse, public-private cooperation is more important than ever," adding, "The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will also actively strive to enable local governments to lead and cooperate with the private sector to provide thorough and robust support to vulnerable households."
