Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) announced on the 16th that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for Namyangju Wangsuk New Town, one of the 3rd New Towns, in Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province on the 15th, and has begun full-scale development.
Announced in December 2018, Namyangju Wangsuk New Town is a large-scale public housing site developed under the plan to supply 300,000 housing units in the metropolitan area, transforming into a city with about 70,000 households and a population of 160,000.
GH plans to provide high-quality housing at affordable prices in Namyangju Wangsuk, the economic hub of the northeastern metropolitan area, and create an economic base that generates jobs, establishing a spatial foundation where workforce and businesses can concentrate.

Kim Se-yong, President of GH, said, "We will develop Namyangju Wangsuk New Town to have smooth transportation and self-sufficient functions," adding, "We will actively incorporate Gyeonggi Province's core policies such as RE100 and carbon neutrality into Wangsuk New Town, and strive to introduce the recently announced equity accumulation housing model."
