Setopia Holds Dinner Meeting at the 8th Rare Earth International Standardization Conference
Setopia announced on the 13th that on the evening of the 12th, it held a dinner with distinguished guests (general assembly members) attending the 8th ISO/TC 298 (Rare Earths) International Standardization Meeting at the Incheon Central Park Songdo Hotel to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange in the rare earth business.
The evening dinner began with a greeting from Kim Taek-su, Deputy Director of the Production Technology Research Institute, followed by a dinner speech from Setopia CEO Seo Sang-cheol. About 100 rare earth experts from 15 member countries including Korea, the United States, China, Australia, and Japan attended the dinner meeting, discussing active exchanges and cooperation in the future, adding luster to the event.
The company served as the main sponsor supporting the general assembly of the 8th ISO/TC 298 (Rare Earths) International Standardization Meeting held from the 10th to the 13th at the Incheon Holiday Inn Hotel. As a newly established Korean rare earth-related company, Setopia introduced its goals and directions for the rare earth business it is promoting to the general assembly members from various countries in the rare earth industry.
The Rare Earth Technical Committee was established in 2015 with China as the secretariat and is currently discussing standardization related to terminology, recycling, packaging and distribution, testing and analysis, and sustainability in the rare earth field. Currently, there are 15 full member countries and 21 associate member countries.
Korea is known to plan to newly propose four new international standards at this general assembly discussing the standard draft, including terminology and test methods, measures to activate rare earth recycling, and new measurement standards for equipment durability.
Setopia CEO Seo Sang-cheol said in his dinner speech, “Introducing Setopia, which has completed vertical integration of the rare earth value chain, I feel that as the rare earth industry expands, the standards used must be firmly supported,” and added, “I appreciate the efforts of those attending the general assembly who are working hard to develop good standards.”

He continued, “Setopia, which operates the rare earth business with the goal of domesticating alloy smelting technology, will always grow as a company that can contribute to the development of the rare earth industry with a progressive outlook.”
