Korea Investment & Securities - Seoul Exchange, Business Agreement to Expand Token Securities Ecosystem
Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Financial Group, announced on the 12th that it has signed a business agreement related to token securities with 'Seoul Georae,' a platform operating unlisted stock trading.
Designated as an innovative financial service provider by the Financial Services Commission in 2020, 'Seoul Georae' has been leading unlisted stock trading by providing information, investment strategies, and trading platforms for unlisted companies. Through this agreement, Korea Investment & Securities and Seoul Georae will share their experiences and technologies and cooperate comprehensively to establish a safe and convenient trading process. After the full-scale business launch, they will also explore ways to secure product liquidity.
The token securities council 'Korea Investment ST Friends,' centered on Korea Investment & Securities and including Kakao Bank, Toss Bank, Kakao Enterprise, and Open Asset, developed infrastructure last month that implements all processes necessary for the issuance and settlement of token securities for the first time in Korea and completed a pilot issuance. Following leading fractional investment companies such as Fundeful, ValueMap, and BuySellStandard, Seoul Georae's participation is expected to accelerate the supply of token securities products.
Choi Seoryong, Head of the Platform Division, said, "Since companies with independent competitiveness in their respective fields have joined hands, we expect to present attractive token securities products," adding, "Through thorough preparation, we will build a token securities ecosystem that leads the industry while focusing on stable institutional settlement and investor protection."
