Ministry of Culture and Tourism Korea Themed Tourism Expo
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization will hold the Korea Themed Tourism Expo on the 11th at the Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. This event aims to create high added value by providing business consultations between domestic and international industries and opportunities to experience tourism activities by sector. This year, cruise tourism has been added to the existing luxury, medical & wellness, and Hallyu & performance themes. About 400 officials, including more than 110 buyers from twenty-four countries, are expected to participate. Jang Mi-ran, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, "It is a platform that introduces diverse K-tourism content in a three-dimensional and immersive way," adding, "We hope it will be an opportunity for overseas buyers to discover attractive products and for the domestic tourism industry to open new markets."

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will showcase the charm of K-tourism content by operating B2B consultations, theme-specific briefings, and exhibition experience halls. Activities include calligraphy education, making handmade Korean alphabet stamps, traditional tea demonstrations and tastings, and herbal medicine experiences. They will also provide the '64 Recommended Wellness Tourism Destinations,' including nine newly selected wellness tourism sites this year. There will be a space to experience K-dramas through virtual reality (VR), an exhibition related to the Welcome Daehangno Festival, and promotional tours (fam tours). A ministry official stated, "We also plan to create separate spaces for the 'Year of Korea Visit Promotion Hall' and to promote the tourism hub cities selected in 2020 (Busan, Gangneung, Mokpo, Andong, Jeonju)."
