The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a survey on the status and needs of youth preparing for independence from the 6th to the 20th of this month.
The survey targets 228 youth preparing for independence from child care facilities, group homes, and foster care.
The survey will investigate their status based on gender, age, housing type, and the support needed after leaving care.
The main survey questions include a total of 12 items such as ▲period after leaving care ▲housing type ▲household members ▲cohabitants ▲occupation ▲social support system ▲support needed after leaving care ▲whether information about needed support was provided.
The survey will be conducted online. Child protection officers have informed the youth preparing for independence about the survey in advance, and a URL to participate in the online survey will be sent via text message.
Through this survey, Suwon City plans to understand the living conditions and support needs of youth preparing for independence and connect them with appropriate independence services.
