Gyeongnam Province Offers Free Education in Game Planning and Production!
2023 Game Start Academy Opening
October 28 - November 22, Total 30 Participants
Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency will conduct the '2023 Game Start Academy Education' from October 28 to November 22.
On the 4th, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will offer two courses in game planning and production to expand the base of the game culture industry within the province.
The education is aimed at beginners, recruiting a total of 30 people, 15 per course.
This year, the province plans to invite active game experts working in Seoul to provide special lectures and networking events for the participants.
According to the province, the game planning course will be held every Saturday for four weeks from October 28 to November 18, covering lectures such as understanding the current status of the game industry, game system planning, and writing reverse design documents.
The game production course will be conducted three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for four weeks from October 31 to November 22, consisting of lectures on basic modeling using Blender and game production using Unity.
All classes are free, and any resident interested in game production can apply.
Applications can be submitted by October 25 through the websites of the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency or the Gyeongnam Contents Korea Lab.

Han Mi-young, Director of the Culture and Arts Division of the province, said, “For the revitalization of Gyeongnam’s cultural content industry, not only infrastructure but also high-quality education is important. We will provide customized game education programs so that residents can receive game-related education comparable to that in the metropolitan area, and we will generously support the nurturing of talent in the local game industry.”
